- Fry or microwave the bacon. Toast bagel. Heat a small frying pan over medium heat, add a small 1/4tsp amount of butter or margarine, crack egg into pan, add teaspoon of water, cover and steam for a minute, season with salt and pepper, place cheese on, cover again for 30 seconds or so. Assemble bagel, egg, cheese, bacon, top bagel.
