Recipe Steps
- In a small bowl mix, brown sugar, chilli powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Rub spice mixture all over pork. Place in slow cooker, and top with sliced onion. Cook on low for 8 hours. Pull apart the meat, and season with more salt and pepper.
- Lightly toast the buns. Top buns with desired amount of pork and 1-2 slices of gruyere. Melt under broiler.
- Serve with fig jam on the side.
You could also serve with a quick apple slaw. Slice some apple and cabbage, top with celery seeds, salt, pepper, and a hearty squeeze of lemon juice.
